Find Your Sources of Learning
Find a way to keep learning
Learning is hard.
It’s even harder when you are forcing yourself to learn from a teacher you're not receptive to. That was a problem I heavily struggled with. I tried to force myself to watch tutorials where I didn’t like the teaching style. I couldn’t grasp the concepts because they were not explained in a way I could understand.
But here's the thing – it's okay to admit when something isn't working for you. You don't have to stick with the first YouTube video or tutorial you stumble upon out of a sense of obligation. In fact, it's essential to explore different resources until you find the ones that truly resonate with you.
And that is what I did.
When I couldn’t figure out a problem, I would search YouTube until I found a video that I could understand. I didn't care who the creator was; I just needed someone who could explain concepts in a way that made sense to me.
When I found a video I was looking for, I searched their other content and tried them out. If they were good, I stuck with them until I couldn’t find teachings of what I was struggling with.
I started the process again.
Search for the problem.
Find a video that resonated with me.
Search their other content.
I didn’t limit myself to one source of information and your shouldn’t either. There's a whole world of knowledge out there waiting for you to discover it. Be open to exploration and experimentation. Trust your instincts and find what works for you!
Remember, in the world of tech, adaptability and curiosity are your greatest assets. Embrace them, and you'll be amazed at how far they can take you. Inspiration is everywhere and you can find it in others as you see fit. Build a process that complements your learning style, but just remember that if it doesn’t work, it is okay to change it up and keep learning!
