Looking Back: A Year in Review
Study the past, execute in the preset
It’s almost the New Year, and I have not accomplished some of the goals I set out to complete. My goal this year was to transition into cloud development, which did not happen. However, I was able to accomplish tiny steps to get me there.
I took a course on Linux.
I was able to secure a certification, the AZ-900.
I have started courses on a few other certifications and completed a Python course.
I have started to learn about Docker.
These are all building blocks to make my way into the cloud, but my route has been anything but perfect. My learning is all over the place, and my interest in topics wanes when something else comes along that I find fascinating.
I still think cloud development is my next step, but I find myself starting to eye other subjects, like AI and Machine learning, along with Web3. They are pulling my interest in three separate ways. A part of me wants to let them pull me apart, but I know that I need to learn the cloud before I start any other endeavors.
Or I won’t get to where I am going.
So here is my plan for the New Year,
Get my certifications for AZ-104 and AZ-204.
Get my Security+ cert.
Deep dive into Linux.
Build a cloud project
These are my main aspirations for the New Year, and just because I didn’t complete them this year doesn’t mean I failed. I have done some wonderful things this year and I don’t plan to get down on myself because I didn’t complete my goals and you shouldn’t either.
Look back on this year with pride, let go of the failures, and start anew. I have assessed what I need to do to continue with my goals; now it is your turn. What do you plan to do now that you have looked back on your year!?
