Do I Measure Up?

Comparing yourself to other leads to misery

Pssssttt…..

I know you’re secret.

I’ve even done it. And that is compare our self to others. We do it with everything. From our looks, our intelligence, down to our material possessions.

Of course its only, natural as we are humans. We are envious of those who we perceive to have everything we desire.

And that even comes down to the skills we have.

But rewind and take a step back.

Those tech gurus? They've trudged through their share of day 0s. They've tasted failure, and reeled with self-doubt. And still, they forged on.

They weren't overnight miracles - they were grinders.

They've journeyed through days full of failure, weathered storms of doubt, and, guess what - they broke through. They didn't sprout wings overnight; they stumbled, crawled, and then learned to fly.

So, here's a thought - quit comparing.

Comparison will only lead to frustration because you start judging your progress on someone else's scale.

Keep this in mind instead -

The best person to compare yourself with? Past you. Better than yesterday? Great! That's your victory. Nurture that.

Make sure everyday that you learn something to get you to the point where someone can say they want to be like you —

And remember to tell them, “Don’t compare yourself to me, you are right where you need to be.”
